What you need to know before you book: the visa, the daily fee, when to come and how to get here.
Bhutan is simple to visit once you know how it works. You need a visa, you pay a daily Sustainable Development Fee, and you travel with a licensed guide to the dzongs, temples and trails. We arrange the visa and the fee as part of your trip.
The essentials
Visa: US$40, approved before you travel. We apply for you. Visa details
Sustainable Development Fee: US$100 per adult per night, until 31 August 2027. It is included in our prices. How the fee works
When to come: March to May and late September to November for the best weather. Month by month
You tell us your dates, how many of you are travelling and what you want to see.
We send a day-by-day itinerary and a price per person within 24 hours.
We adjust it together until it is right.
You send a passport copy and photograph, and we apply for your visa.
We email your visa clearance letter. You show it when you check in for your flight to Paro.
Your guide and driver meet you at the airport.
