These terms describe how a booking with Wonder Bhutan works. Wonder Bhutan is the travel brand of Basnet Adventures, tour operator licence no. 6013322, Zomlha Building, Thimphu, Bhutan. The full terms for your trip are sent to you in writing with your itinerary, before you pay anything.

Enquiries and quotations

Sending an enquiry does not commit you to anything. We reply with an itinerary and a price per person. A price is valid for the dates and group size stated in it.

Booking and payment

Your visa can be applied for only once the Sustainable Development Fee and visa fee have been paid to the government, so payment is needed before travel.

What the price includes

Each tour page lists what is included and what is not. Unless your written itinerary says otherwise, flights to and from Bhutan, entry fees at monuments, travel insurance, tips and personal spending are not included.

If you cancel or change your booking

Tell us in writing as soon as you can. The visa fee of US$40 is not refunded by the government once an application has been made.

If we have to change your trip

Travel in Bhutan depends on mountain weather, roads and a small number of flights. Flights to and from Paro can be delayed, domestic flights can be cancelled, and a road can be closed by snow or a landslide. When that happens we will change the plan to give you the best trip we can in the time available, and your guide will explain the options.

Festival dates are set by the lunar calendar and published as tentative. If a festival’s dates change after you have booked, we will tell you at once and help you move your trip.

Passport, visa and entry

You are responsible for holding a passport valid for at least six months beyond your trip and for giving us accurate details for the visa application. If you leave Bhutan by road into India, you are responsible for holding the right Indian visa.

Insurance

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers medical treatment, evacuation, cancellation and delay. For treks, your policy must cover walking at the altitude of your route and evacuation by helicopter.

Health and fitness

Tell us before you book about any medical condition, allergy or mobility need that could affect your trip. Much of Bhutan is above 2,000 m, and treks go far higher. On a trek the guide’s decision on safety is final, including a decision to turn back or to send someone down.

Your conduct

Bhutanese law and custom apply to everyone in the country. Your guide will explain the rules at dzongs, temples and festivals. We may end the trip of anyone whose behaviour puts others at risk or breaks the law.

Our responsibility

We plan and run your trip with care, using licensed guides and drivers.

Complaints

If something is not right during your trip, tell your guide straight away so that it can be put right there and then. If you are still unhappy, write to info@wonderbhutan.com after you return.
